The GLAD Manufacturing Company is seeking applicants for the position of Manufacturing Process Engineer at its facility in Amherst, VA. As a member of the Process Engineering Team, the qualified individual will provide day-to-day technical leadership for process/maintenance technicians and production operators, helping drive continuous improvement of production and packaging equipment/systems. Opportunities will include complex, cross-functional and multi-disciplinary initiatives - both technical and business focused. This position also provides technical consultation for the commercialization of new products and other business initiatives, and is responsible for improving the capability of the broader organization.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Use expert technical skills to support machine operators and assure trouble shooting efficiency, prompt follow-up on operations systems and equipment problem solving.
Use project management and leadership skills and/or support manufacturing projects requiring analytical expertise and metrics evaluation.
Drive continuous improvement, cost reductions, and efficiency initiatives.
Plan and execute projects which utilize experience, and participate on teams as a technical resource.
Provide plant support to help ensure safety, quality, production, and cost goals are met.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in an engineering field; electrical/controls or mechanical preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years manufacturing experience (plastics industry experience preferred).
Demonstrated experience in project management, multi-tasking, prioritizing multiple initiatives and meeting challenging deadlines, with strong attention to detail and planning.
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal direction.
Hands-on generalist experience in a manufacturing facility and as a problem solver.
Solid computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, etc.).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with multiple levels of organization.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and have legal right to regular employment in the U.S.
Qualifications:
Experience with plastics extrusion, film conversion, and packaging equipment.
Proven process improvement capability in plastics processing and packaging.
Operations and results driven.
Experience working in a TPM, Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environment.
Expertise in leadership of process teams with assurance of efficient trouble shooting and timely follow-up on system / equipment problems.
Experience with SAP, PPM, and AutoCAD.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
